Pubs are closing at an alarming rate of up to 15 a day.
The good old privately owned British pub, the last bastion of the working class is about to come to an end. At the current increasing rate of closures the last pub will close near the end of 2028.
After crunching the numbers, multiple bodies associated with British pubs made the announcement that the traditional pub will cease to exist past 2028. This only leaves the un-atmospheric chains to fill the gaps.
NOT ALL DOOM AND GLOOM
There is no alternative, there is no escape, that local you had your first drink in with your dad is going to close or it has already.
It’s not all doom and gloom though, your local will be taken over by Wetherspoons or possibly become the new meeting place for the working class, the betting shop with its free coffee and all the debt you can unmanage. There’s also light at the end of the tunnel with the UK gambling lobby pushing for drinks licenses at betting shops which Reform UK has committed to pushing through when it is in government.
Please support your local privately owned pub by visiting regularly and buying a pint, it won’t save them but it will create the illusion that everything is going to be ok.
