The newly formed UK Internet Safety Task Force has been instructed to visit all homes in the country and inspect every web enabled device’s internet history.
Several new laws were passed last week enabling the task force to enter homes without permission and to use force where necessary.
ENTRANCE SPECIALISTS
The force is hiring 7000 inspection staff consisting of 6000 regular inspectors and 1000 ‘entrance specialists’ who will be trained by the National Crime Agency to enter ‘unwilling’ residents’ homes.
Newsishy asked the head of the new task force Lisa Ratic why the task force is needed and what its aims are?
“We need to know what our citizens are watching on the web. Once we know if they are consuming undesirable content we can address that.
You know yourself, the moment you open a device you are bombarded by content spewing lies and misinformation. At the moment the public has no guidance on if that information is false or not. We are here to inform them what is false and what is acceptable”
MISUSE OF POWER
Our reporter stated that this does appear to be a flagrant misuse of power and a blatant invasion of privacy akin to what happens in China or North Korea.
“That’s absurd, those countries do not allow their citizens to view anything other than government approved content. We’re not allowed to do that yet and when we tried to licence China’s Golden Shield Project (The Great Firewall Of China) it was far too expensive so this is by far our best option until we can develop our own version.
Actually while you’re here we will need to have a look at your phone”
