An alarming trend has recently been identified of council pothole repair teams being taken at gunpoint to locations of pothole blackspots.
Once there, the crew is ordered to fix the potholes ‘properly’. There have been 17 incidents reported in the last 3 months and they are increasing every week.
Newsishy has been investigating and discovered there may be a link between a Facebook group called “The Pothole Ninjas” and the recent incidents, one video compilation on their page titled “We kidnapped pothole crews at gunpoint” shows them kidnapping pothole crews at gunpoint.
600 QUID ON CAR REPAIRS
We contacted the group via Facebook and spoke to someone named “Ninja Greg” and began by asking what justified taking such action:
“Is it justified that I’ve spent 600 quid on car repairs over the last 8 weeks just by driving to work? Is it justified that this country spends bazillions on missiles but won’t hire anymore workers to fix the roads?”
Okay, fair enough, that is not justified. So what is the plan here?
“The plan is to get the fucking potholes fixed. We tried doing it the council recommended way, taking pictures and reporting the potholes, nothing happens, they are still there a month after reporting. They take the piss so we have to take that piss into our own hands.
TAUGHT A LESSON
Look, I know many people will not like what we are doing but the council needs to be taught a lesson here.
We are not violent, yes we kidnap them at gunpoint but we always bring a couple of flasks of tea and some sandwiches for them and if there’s a cafe nearby they will always get a breakfast baguette each.”
When will you stop doing this?
“When they get their arses in gear and fix the mess they have caused. We are expanding countrywide, action will soon be taken on a daily basis as soon as we can get funding for the baguettes”
