The British police force has confirmed it has started using drug addicts as ‘sniffers’ to find illegal substances during raids and when investigating criminal activity.
Newsishy spoke to DS Wyne Swishens who leads the first team to use tweakers:
“It’s been a resounding success so far. There were a lot of my colleagues who thought it was a terrible idea but these twitchy fuckers are very good at finding a stash.”
Why are they better than the traditional police sniffer dogs?
“I wouldn’t say they’re better but they are just as good and there are other advantages, for a start we don’t need to train them for months, these guys are ready to go and we don’t really need to feed them, they kind of run on their own juice”

Why are drug addicts helping the police?
“5%, they get 5% of whatever they find up to a maximum. The maximum depends on the drug, if they find weed, the max is 10 grams, if they find crack, it’s 2 grams. We’ve set them at average daily intake so they will still turn up for work the next day.”
And they do turn up the next day?
“Oh god yes, they are here before the officers in the morning, gagging for it they are. They can’t wait to get their leads on”
You have them on leads?
“We have to, if we let them run free in these places they would just nick the lot, so we keep them on an officers lead, they are also fitted with a ball gag and butt plug, they are extremely quick at secreting things, we learned that early on.”
Sounds like this is going well for you:
“Pretty much, our sniffers aren’t going out doing crime to fund their habit, they supply themselves and any dealers we arrest are usually addicts so we recruit them as well.
Crime in my district has reduced by 25% just in the 2 months we’ve been operational.”
