When the local kids hear the tunes from a distance they run to their parents and ask for money for an ice cream just as it has been for as long as most of us remember.
However, some of the children will be unhappy when their parents refuse them, many parents will not support Mr Trippy because of the music he plays and the style of his van.
IT’S DISGUSTING
We spoke to one of the unhappy Sutton Coldfield parents Olive Bassflouy:
“It’s disgusting! Why on earth he has to play that horrible so-called music is beyond me. The children seem to love it. I heard my boy singing along or whatever it’s called the other day “Come through, have sex on rugs that’s Persian. Come up to your job, hit you while you workin”. Why would someone want to hit someone at work? He’s 9. It’s not only rude, it’s encouraging violence in the workplace.”
Doris Thuttston who lives on the same street has similar views.
“My children are all at university now but they would never have gotten money from me for that nonsense. The van looks ridiculous and he must have very large bass speakers because all my china rattles when he drives down the street, it doesn’t have to be that loud.
I think he turns it up for the profanity to be honest. I recorded it on my phone, you can do that now you know, listen to this “When I die, fuck it, I wanna go to hell. Cause I’m a piece of shit, it ain’t hard to fucking tell”. Isn’t there a law against this?”
Newsishy tracked down owner and operator of the Mr Trippy van Seth Sifalis while he was doing his rounds and asked his opinion on some of his customers parents:
“It’s all good man, I do lose a bit of business but the uproar from these boomers only gets me more publicity, they go on Facebook to complain and I end up getting customers from out of the area coming to see the van and hear the tunes.
I’ve spent a lot of money on my van, the kids love it, they’re always taking selfies and doing TikToks in front of Mr Trippy and they always come back, sometimes within a few minutes.
Now what ice creams are you guys having? You want crack sprinkles on those?”
