Mandatory Hi-Viz To Be Worn By All People Leaving Their Home.

Mandatory Hi-Viz To Be Worn By All People Leaving Their Home.

The legislation was rushed through after it was suggested by a backbencher MP for Richmond upon Thames Jonathon W. Trursby. The law states ‘every person is required to wear a government approved Hi-Viz vest when leaving any building and keep wearing the garment until returning indoors.’

Dodgy individuals

We spoke to Mr Trursby outside parliament and asked was there really a need for such an overreaching law? “Absolutely there is!” He told us “Apart from the clear fact it will reduce vehicles hitting people there’s also the added feeling of security that possibly dodgy individuals can be spotted more easily when they would previously be hanging round in the shadows dressed in pure black”

Government supplied Hi-Viz vests are available for free to all UK citizens which can be collected from council offices if you have not received your families allocation through the post.

Enforcement will be strict

A police statement said that enforcement will be strict with a £100 fine for the first offence rising another £100 for each subsequent offence up to a maximum of £500 for the fifth at which point further violations will incur a 3 month jail sentence. Ironically offenders will not have to wear Hi-Viz in jail as it is indoors.

Questions have been rife on social media after it was revealed that the MP for Richmond upon Thames Jonathon W. Trursby owns a factory which makes Hi-Viz garments and has recently been awarded the contract to supply the government with 100 million vests. Mr Thursby insists there is no connection to the law he introduced.
