GTA VI Release Date Put Back To August 2038

Gaming fans are fuming today after Rockstar released a statement once again delaying the release of their long awaited title Grand Theft Auto VI. The previous date was May 2026 which most fans were willing to accept if it meant a completed quality release. Now with a new earliest release date of August 2038 it means players will wait at least 13 years to taste the delights of causing chaos in a new city.

The statement

Rockstar defended the delay in their statement. “We are aware that the new release date may upset a small minority of fans who have pre-ordered hoping to play in May this year. This further delay is absolutely necessary to complete this AAA title to the standard everyone accepts from Rockstar.”

There are things that players expect from a GTA title

Newsishy managed to get chief developer Hester Tisias on the phone to ask why the release is so far away. “We thought we were close to finalising the game, really just tidying things up and sorting last minute glitches, we were on track for May 2026 and everything was looking great. Then a kid on work experience was doing a mission test run and happened to point out there were no guns and titties, like we had literally forgotten to add guns and titties to the game. There are things that players expect from a GTA title, excellent gameplay, incredible missions, an epic storyline and guns and titties. So we now have to add all new guns and titties which is not as easy as it sounds on a title this big, there’s a lot of guns and a lot of titties.”
