Government ministers are doing everything they can to encourage gambling…………… safety in the UK.
There have been multiple press conferences and promotional events supporting the new initiative, Newsishy has been attending them so you don’t have too.
We spoke to Seth Sialis, minister for sports and asked what the goal is.
“The goal is to promote gambling safety, we want to make sure people are not gambling beyond their means.”
Shouldn’t you be encouraging people to not gamble at all?

At another event sponsored by betyourlifeaway.com, the minister for gambling safety Clari Sait was stressing the importance of enjoying gambling in a safe way.
“We changed the law in 2005, before that it was illegal to advertise any gambling or even to have more than one betting shop on a street, gambling companies could not sponsor sports teams or events and you had to wait 2 days after registration in person before being allowed in a casino.
What we did is scrap all of that and give the public a phone number they can call once they’ve lost their house.”
Considering that leaving all those protections behind has resulted in thousands of people becoming addicted and losing not just all their money but in a lot of cases their families as well, wouldn’t it be better for the public overall if you went back to the old ways at least on some level?
“Look, there is no going back. Football leagues would collapse, entire tv networks would close down, high streets would be even more empty of businesses, it would be total chaos. You have to remember that gambling is fun and when it’s not there is always a phone number to call.”
