A local woman is furious after discovering she can’t now withdraw the 12 eggs she ‘deposited’ in a foodbank some months ago. Complaining on social media she said “Bloody banks think they can do what they want!, they don’t care about the people, they just take, take, take.”
After speaking to a local news team who she called to highlight the injustice she explained “I had a few extra quid from a scratch card a few months ago so thought I’d do the sensible thing and so purchased extra eggs. I’d heard about a new foodbank which had opened down the road to ‘help the community’ so I went and deposited the extra eggs.

Fast forward to yesterday, I’d lost all the housekeeping money buying a few scratch cards and had nothing for the kids’ dinner so went to the foodbank to withdraw my eggs. They said my eggs had already been given to someone else! They offered me some beans and bread! I was livid! In what world does a bank have the right to do that?”
She added “They tried telling me that’s not how it works! Yeah right, all I know is that if I put a fiver in the TSB that fiver is there a few months later.”
