It was to everyone’s relief when contact was re-made with the Orion spacecraft after 40 minutes of silence as they passed around the far side of the moon. That first contact was live streamed to the world and we heard the crew jubilant at hearing NASA on the other end of the line.
A few minutes later, when astronauts and NASA thought the live stream had ended an astonishing exchange took place.
